Apache Log4j2 2.0-beta9 versiyasından 2.15.0 versiyasına qədər (təhlükəsizlik yeniləmələri olan 2.12.2, 2.12.3 və 2.3.1 istisna olmaqla) konfiqurasiya, loq mesajları və parametrlərdə istifadə edilən JNDI funksiyaları hücumçu tərəfindən idarə olunan LDAP və digər JNDI ilə əlaqəli son nöqtələrə qarşı qoruma təmin etmir. Log4j 2.15.0 versiyasından etibarən bu davranış standart olaraq deaktiv edilmişdir. 2.16.0 versiyasından başlayaraq (həmçinin 2.12.2, 2.12.3 və 2.3.1 versiyalarında), bu funksionallıq tamamilə silinib.
