libXfont2 font-server klientindəki (src/fc/fserve.c) fs_read_glyphs() funksiyası hər simvol üçün olan encoding[] massivini FS_QueryXBitmaps16 cavabından gələn num_chars ilə indeksləyir, lakin həmin massiv ayrı bir FS_QueryXExtents16 cavabındakı num_extents-dən törəmiş ölçü ilə ayrılmışdır. Bu iki CARD32 sahəsi heç vaxt qarşılaşdırılmır. Bədxah və ya kompromisə uğramış şrift serveri extents cavabında kiçik num_extents (məsələn, 1), sonra isə bitmaps cavabında böyük num_chars (məsələn, 100000) göndərə bilər.
